Do you offer other Early Childhood Programs?

From time to time we offer different short term children’s programming. These programs are focused on enhancing early childhood development. We do promote all of our programs on our Facebook page, call to see what new program we are offering or working on now.

Ages and Stages

The Ages and Stages Questionnaire is a simple questionnaire that is used to screen for early childhood developmental delays. About 5% of the children who are screened with an ASQ are referred for further assessment to determine if there is need for early intervention supports which can be very critical to overcoming any developmental delay.

Grandma’s House

FCSS believes that the early years are critical years.

Grandma’s House offers a program for children 19 months to 4 years of age on a drop-in basis. The program runs Wednesday and Friday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m, and Thursday afternoons from 1:30pm-3:45pm. There is a fee of $5.00/visit. A registration form must be completed prior to your child attending the program. If you are interested we encourage you to call or better yet come in for a visit.

Home Alone Course

Periodically we offer the Canada Safety Council’s Home Alone babysitters course for children 10 years of age and older, call the office to find out when the next time will be.

Family Room

The Family Room is more than just a physical space—it’s where compassion, learning, and community come together. It’s where families gather to share stories, support one another, and grow closer through everyday moments. In this space, children learn empathy by watching how their loved ones care for each other, and adults continue to grow through shared experiences and open conversations. The family room fosters a sense of belonging and community, reminding everyone that they are part of something bigger—a network of caring, understanding, and continuous learning.
